There are two major categories of semi-trailer, fifth wheel, and mobile homes. In the case of a fifth wheel or mini tractor, the unit is drawn behind another vehicle. Mobile homes, also known as manufactured homes, consist of one or more enclosed compartments that are connected by walls or by an open roof. All of these are commonly used by professional drivers.
The size of large trucks is largely the same as that of the smaller models. However, the amount of space available for cargo and passengers is significantly less on medium-sized tractors than on the larger ones. The biggest difference between a tractor and a truck is in the engines; both require a source of power other than driving the vehicle.
